LAX Airside Walkways Now Open

LAX now has airside walkways between all terminals

El Segundo Ca. – Ladies and gentelmen, the Airside Walkways are officially open. If you haven’t been to LAX in a while, it has now grown from seven terminals to nine, Terminals 1-8, along with Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT). And, not only does each terminal have its own security checkpoint, there are now airside walkways between Terminal 3 and TBIT.

This is an exciting update and means that all terminals are now connected airside at the airport. That’s right, you can walk between all terminals at the airport without leaving security.

The only exception is if you’re on an American Eagle flight, if so, you’ll still have to take an airside bus. That’s due to American’s  “Eagle’s Nest,” a separate satellite terminal located quite a ways from the carrier’s primary terminal.

New Walkways let you walk there

So, if you’re looking to visit a specific lounge or restaurant, or maybe get in a good portion of your 10,000 steps, the Airside Walkways will take you there.

Keep in mind, that while it’s great to be able to use the airside walkways between terminals, it won’t be quick. Be sure to budget plenty of time for passage between terminals, due to the travel distance.

If you have the extra time, it might be fun to see just how long it would take to go from terminal 1 to terminal 8.
